TRABUCCO sea fishing reel

In 2014 Trabucco introduced the Xplore model, and if you are an experienced and passionate fisherman and now do not own one, it means you are part of a minority and have missed out on an incredible performance reel.

2015 saw the birth of the Match, competition version of the same Xplore.

The new Match is a reel designed specifically for pond competition and features a beautifully smooth-running gear and a low-capacity spool calibrated for trout competitions, although, of course, there's nothing to stop it from being juxtaposed with a bolognese or match fishing rod.

Size 2000, with a capacity of 100 m of 0.20 and a weight of only 270 grams, is perfect for rods from actions 1-3.

Size 4000, only 20 grams heavier but with a 120 m capacity of 0.26, on the other hand, is the ideal complement for rods from actions 4 to 6.

The 5000 size, which in any case has a really modest weight, just 300 grams and a capacity of 130 m of the 0.26, by virtue of a wider spool is really perfect for action 7, where with the help of a big bombard (and a good rod) it is able to shoot the bait beyond the mythical 100-meter threshold.

The smoothness of the very precise gears is helped by no less than 9+1 double-shielded stainless steel bearings.

<h2><strong>GLADIATOR trolling reel</strong></h2> <p>The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, born in Modena but who soon emigrated to Venezuela.<br />Back in Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.<br />After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application No. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.<br />Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.<br />For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.<br />The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - <h2><strong>GLADIATOR from sea trolling</strong></h2> <p>The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, who was born in Modena but soon emigrated to Venezuela.<br>Back in Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.<br>After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application nr. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.<br>Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product, and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.<br>For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.<br>The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - 1st prize Spoga Koln 1979 - Germany).<br>In the following years due to a strong demand for the product, production agreements were also made with other companies that further improved the quality level.<br>The reel GLADIATOR is the perfect match for Italcanna rods and together they have won over the years numerous Italian, European and World Championships (as visible in the news area) as well as several catch records.<br>Technique, experience but also deep passion for sea fishing are therefore at the basis of a Gladiator reel that is now made of anti-corrosion alloy and stainless steel (on high-speed bearings) and is a real strong point on the market for lightness, performance and reliability.<br>Every single computer-designed component is then made on extremely precise machining centers, and using it you will appreciate the innovative lever non-return system (by means of a free wheel) and the easy adjustment of a cam-driven carbon clutch that does not allow for errors from over-tightening or wigging due to full spool release.<br>The special off-center ergonomic handle made of reinforced abs allows not only a better grip, but also makes it easier to hold because it is always upright, as well as transmitting more power to the axle.<br>The elegance of the nickel/anti-corodal contrasts is enhanced by laser engravings that will not fade or fade over time.</p> <p><span>The new Gladiator CUB (meaning Lion's Cub) reel is designed to be very small in size and weight but up to 45 pounds of power that place it at the highest technical level for vertical jigging fishing but it is also in sinker trolling, trolling and light drifting that it can be used with excellent results. Two models, 15/30 and 20/40 that share most of the technical features, except, of course, the Max Drag: 20 lb. for the smaller size, 30 lb. for the larger. The gears are fully treated against corrosion and develop a recovery ratio of 3.8:1, the right compromise between speed and power.
