GLADIATOR trolling reel

The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, who was born in Modena but soon emigrated to Venezuela.
Returning to Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.
After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application nr. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.
Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product, and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.
For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.
The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - 1st prize Spoga Koln 1979 - Germany).
In the following years due to a strong demand for the product, production agreements were also made with other companies that further improved the quality level.
The reel GLADIATOR is the perfect match for Italcanna rods and together they have won over the years numerous Italian, European and World Championships (as visible in the news area) as well as several catch records.
Technique, experience but also deep passion for sea fishing are therefore at the basis of a Gladiator reel that is now made of anti-corrosion alloy and stainless steel (on high-speed bearings) and is a real strong point on the market for lightness, performance and reliability.
Every single computer-designed component is then made on extremely precise machining centers, and using it you will appreciate the innovative lever non-return system (by means of a free wheel) and the easy adjustment of a cam-driven carbon clutch that does not allow for errors from over-tightening or wigging due to full spool release.
The special off-center ergonomic handle made of reinforced abs allows not only a better grip, but also makes it easier to hold because it is always upright, as well as transmitting more power to the axle.
The elegance of the nickel/anti-corodal contrasts is enhanced by laser engravings that will not fade or fade over time.

Completely revamped in aesthetics and materials, the new gladiator reel replaces the previous version from which it differs in greater simplicity of construction, weight reduced by a third, practicality of use, cutting-edge materials, high aesthetic level and also technological innovations on the non-return system (free wheel) and clutch lever guided by means of a cam (patented systems)that prevents any wigs of the line and the accidental complete tightening of the spool. Also by pressing a button located on the lever ,it allows the insertion of a reduced gear, which is particularly useful for reducing the effort in fights. The operation of the second speed is very simple and quick. It is completely constructed of light alloy and stainless steel with an elegant off-center ergonomic handle that makes it easier to grip and allows more power to be transmitted to the 'axle. <h2><strong>GLADIATOR sea trolling reel</strong></h2> <p><span>The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, born in Modena but who soon emigrated to Venezuela.<br>Back in Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.<br>After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application nr. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.<br>Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product, and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.<br>For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.<br>The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - 1st prize Spoga Koln 1979 - Germany).<br>In the following years due to a strong demand for the product, production agreements were also made with other companies that further improved the quality level.<br>The reel GLADIATOR is the perfect match for Italcanna rods and together they have won over the years numerous Italian, European and World Championships (as visible in the news area) as well as several catch records.<br>Technique, experience but also deep passion for sea fishing are therefore at the basis of a Gladiator reel that is now made of anti-corrosion alloy and stainless steel (on high-speed bearings) and is a real strong point on the market for lightness, performance and reliability.<br>Every single computer-designed component is then made on extremely precise machining centers, and using it you will appreciate the innovative lever non-return system (by means of a free wheel) and the easy adjustment of a cam-driven carbon clutch that does not allow for errors from over-tightening or wigging due to full spool release.<br>The special off-center ergonomic handle made of reinforced abs allows not only a better grip, but also makes it easier to hold because it is always upright, as well as transmitting more power to the axle.<br>The elegance of the nickel/anti-corodal contrasts is enhanced by laser engravings that will not fade or fade over time.</span></p> <p><span>The new Gladiator CUB (meaning Lion's Cub) reel is designed to be very small in size and weight but up to 45 pounds of power that place it at the highest technical level for vertical jigging fishing but it is also in sinker trolling, trolling and light drifting that it can be used with excellent results. The name of this product "EVOLUTION" was not chosen at random, in fact it was made at the end of an evolutionary process that saw as protagonists precisely the suggestions of the carpists themselves who, based on the rod-pods previously made by the Fossombrone-based company, indicated what the real needs were in the various fishing situations, and consequently what improvements should be made. After the majestic Nick and the practical Tech-Nick, Meccanica Vadese has therefore decided to complete its offer with the Nick Evolution, the rod-pod that stands between the two aforementioned taking from both the most salient features. From the former undoubtedly the excellent stability, flanked by the bitubo anti-rotation system and the implosion closure without disassembly; from the latter the weight and ease of transport, without neglecting the excellent value for money.</span><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;"><strong>VERSATILE AND PRACTICAL</strong></span><br /><span style="color: #000000;"> The Nick Evolution is a 360-degree tilting and rotating rod pod, the central body relying on the anti-rotation of the double overlapping tube, which is telescopic and can be tightened to the preferred position.</span><br /><span style="color: #000000;"> It comes with three standard leg extensions, oriented at an angle 7° greater than Nick's, giving it a large support surface by making up for the inability to dislocate the legs. All rod-pod parts, with the exception of the tubes, are machined from solid metal using vertical/horizontal centers and CNC lathes. The Evo as it is often called is also very well cared for aesthetically thanks to the anodized aluminum, lightened by almost three kilograms compared to its big brother and finished along the entire structure, decorated in addition by a cutter-made engraving on both support-grids. The telescoping legs and central body offer smooth movements thanks to internal pa6 plungers that provide ad hoc adjustment for each spot. Independent 3- or 4-barrel buzzer bars allow convenient accommodation of any type of reel with generous operating space between (panoramic also available). <h2><strong>K-KARP PUNISHER DOME</strong></h2> <p>It is designed to accommodate two sunbeds and hold gear, this new tent from K-Karp that sports the classic fan frame that allows it to be set up and taken down in a very short time. The supporting structure is made of shaped tubulars of anodized aluminum, which can withstand time and weather without oxidizing. The cover is a very strong 210-denier PVC sheet, coated to achieve complete waterproofing and resistance in the face of a water column at 5000 mm height. This maximum hydrostatic pressure is beyond any weather event, in fact constituting ample guarantee of total safety. All seams are made of PE filament and then heat-sealed to ensure a perfect seal and great durability. The tension of the canvas can be taken to the extreme, thanks to the included tie rods, aluminum rings and anchoring pegs. The door and the two triangular windows on the front can be darkened and are equipped with mosquito nets, as are the two vents located on the back side, which are invaluable in the summer season for keeping the interior cool. In the center of the cover, a hook allows a lamp to be hung for lighting the interior. The floor is made of sturdy PVC to resist contact with any rocks below, and is removable for washing.
