Carp fishing trips last even several days unlike other fishing techniques that normally do not last more than a day.

The basic steps to take on a carpfishing trip are as follows :

  • Find a suitable location for fishing
  • Probing the bottom
  • Baiting
  • Fishing for the biggest carp

Before looking at the various points for carp fishing preparation, let's look in detail at the fishing equipment used.

For carpfishing nowadays specific equipment is sold for this technique, the fishing rods for carp fishing are two or three pieces and change according to their action, normally the action is measured in pounds.

As for the reel we can find specific carpfishing reels on the market, they have a lever called the backstop lever that is used precisely to make sure that the monofilament is left free even when the fishing rod will be placed in the rod pod.

The rod pod

It is a rod holder purely used for carpfishing, the function of the rodpod is to alert us when the carp bites our bait, the rod pod has sound sensors and monkeys that will allow us to see and hear the bites of the fish.

The sturdy bag comes with two zippered compartments inside for storing any equipment such as rod rests and supplied with the key for quick release of the precious sensors with half a turn of the wrist.

<h2><strong>GLADIATOR trolling reel</strong></h2> <p>The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, born in Modena but who soon emigrated to Venezuela.<br />Back in Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.<br />After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application No. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.<br />Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.<br />For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.<br />The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - - 2 anchor points with "Karabiner" style hook to secure the pod to the ground

- All threads are brass (to prevent oxidation)

- New shock absorber on the head to protect your swingers once detached from the wire following a ferrata

- Standard 33 cm and 25 cm long legs

- 3-barrel and 4-barrel versions available

- Carrying pouch supplied as standard - Includes: one zipper on full length + additional space for XL legs. The pouch also includes Velcro straps to safely store buzz bars once disassembled
