ITALCANNA surfcasting fishing

The first true three-piece fishing rod designed for ground casting with a fixed reel.
The Dynamis line includes two models:

- The FSH (available from the end of September 2013) with sensitive tip (Match) is a powerful rod suitable for all types of casting, including ground up to 150g
or side in the 100-175g range. Its characteristic feature is its great versatility of use, sensitivity at the tip and power at the butt.

- The OTG (Off The Ground) presents an innovative action that while not disdaining other types of casting is aimed at ground, with which it expresses itself best with weights in the range between 120 and 170g as the excellent results obtained also in longcasting have shown, while with side or above casts the OTG version can be used with a range 140 - 250g. The distances that can be reached with such a model are slightly higher than the FSH model but this is at the expense of tip sensitivity.

For those looking for a long distance rod we suggest the OTG model, while the FSH thanks to the greater tip sensitivity is more suitable for fishing even with small prey. Both models are made of high-modulus Carbon and other materials, in three slightly asymmetrical sections, with lengths determined by precise choices that lead to the best expression of all their considerable power. The OTG model has a total length of 4.38 m while the FSH is 4.50 m long Stable and secure couplings with Italcanna's exclusive reverse taper system guaranteeing countless changes. Fuji reel holder, neoprene end handle and soft-touch paint to improve grip on the left hand, while antigrip paint was used on the couplings to facilitate disassembly of the elements even with wet hands. 0.91 action for the OTG model and 0.75 action for the FSH version.

Italcanna guarantees that all the rods in this catalog are absolutely made in Italy at its production site in Lucca, starting from the mother carbon fiber that is used to make each single shaft.
Made in Italy means not only choosing the best materials, but also having the certainty of assistance and spare parts even on older products.
In fact, we are used to always keep the molds necessary to make a given item.
Italian production also means that the product you are using has been developed by expert fishermen for our seas, our seabeds, and our fishing techniques, and is therefore not an item that for market needs must necessarily be suitable for more than one country.

The choice of materials

Having a direct production-user relationship, we feel obliged to always employ the best materials, because we are personally accountable for the materials used, unlike manufacturers who resell to multinationals with the sole purpose of offering a sufficient product at a lower price to prevent them from turning to others, and certainly do not specify to them the raw materials used.
A clear example of this is carbon fiber, in the chart opposite we highlight different types of fibers in HR class which as visible all have a similar modulus value, but very different tensile strength values, this means that a rod made with fiber A (our choice) will have the same stiffness and weight feeling as one made with fiber C (less expensive), so seemingly the same, however under greater tensile stress the one with fiber C will break much sooner.

<h2 style="box-sizing: inherit; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5rem; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; line-height: 24px; color: #1d1d1d; font-size: 1.25rem; background-color: #ffffff;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit;">GLADIATOR trolling reel</span></h2> <p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; font-size: 14px; color: #2b2626; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;">The Gladiator Reel was born from the will and a project of the expert technician Sergio Riccò, who was born in Modena but soon emigrated to Venezuela.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Returning to Italy at the end of the 1960s his passion for the sea combined with some Venezuelan deep-sea fishing experiences led him, since in those years there was a lack of specific products for Big Game, to design and build the Gladiator reel.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />After a few years of testing (which was followed by patent application nr. 31039) and excellent practical results he began the production of the Gladiator also assisted by other collaborators.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Some time later Mr. Ricò thought of contacting Carlo D'Olivo president of Italcanna to improve the commercial diffusion of the product, and shortly after in the 1970s Mr. D'Olivo personally became part of the Gladiator company and then took it over completely a few years later upon the death of his friend Sergio.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />For all these years the Gladiator company produced highly specialized equipment for deep-sea fishing such as rings, handles, etc.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The Gladiator has over time always stood out for its simplicity of operation and elegance, and was the first reel in the world with an electric contact sound beacon for shoaling (it could operate the boat siren or other electric means - 1st prize Spoga Koln 1979 - Germany).<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />In the following years due to a strong demand for the product, production agreements were also made with other companies that further improved the quality level.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The reel GLADIATOR is the perfect match for Italcanna rods and together they have won over the years numerous Italian, European and World Championships (as visible in the news area) as well as several catch records.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Technique, experience but also deep passion for sea fishing are therefore at the basis of a Gladiator reel that is now made of anti-corrosion alloy and stainless steel (on high-speed bearings) and is a real strong point on the market for lightness, performance and reliability.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Every single computer-designed component is then made on extremely precise machining centers, and using it you will appreciate the innovative lever non-return system (by means of a free wheel) and the easy adjustment of a cam-driven carbon clutch that does not allow for errors from over-tightening or wigging due to full spool release.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The special off-center ergonomic handle made of reinforced abs allows not only a better grip, but also makes it easier to hold because it is always upright, as well as transmitting more power to the axle.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The elegance of the nickel/anti-corodal contrasts is enhanced by laser engravings that will not fade or fade over time.</p> <p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; font-size: 14px; color: #2b2626; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;"></p> <p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px; font-size: 14px; color: #2b2626; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; background-color: #ffffff;"><span style="box-sizing: inherit;">Completely revamped in aesthetics and materials, the new gladiator reel replaces the previous version from which it differs in greater simplicity of construction, weight reduced by a third, practicality of use, cutting-edge materials, high aesthetic level and also technological innovations on the non-return system (free wheel) and clutch lever guided by means of a cam (patented systems)that prevents any wigs of the line and the accidental complete tightening of the spool.
