Italcanna vitium surfcasting fishing rod

Italcanna's commitment to research design and development of new three-piece rods capable of combining power sensitivity and casting ease continues.
So we took on the challenge of designing a rod with great casting ease despite the considerable power at the butt (in fact similar to a Vector C3) but with a tip less than 2 mm in diameter.
Not only that... that would also be able to withstand Ground style casting.
With this in mind after 7 prototypes, 10 months of design (which still continues for new sizes) and severe testing and efforts by our Team, the first VITIUMs are born from the Latin noun that is understood here as "vice-sickness for fishing..." All models will be composed with plug-in elements through Italcanna's patented REW-TAPER system to guarantee stability and durability and made of at least 6 different materials blended together including 400Gpa high modulus. The ultra-sensitive tip panders to wave motion and gives greater visibility to touches and greater stability while fishing. Resins enhanced with nanocomposite fillers to improve the overall strength of the composite. Action with precise power distribution that has been carefully calculated using proprietary software for maximum range performance. Rings with stainless steel frames and interior made of anti-friction and anti-wear material. This new line of 3-piece rods will include a range of models that we can distinguish in :

CR Line (red color) The CR 150 was the first model to be put on the market, and not by accident... In fact, we wanted to give a twist with something innovative and very high performance. The rod comes with an overall length of 4.50m; exploitable with various casting techniques, where it will express itself at its best: in ground with 125g (although it will also withstand 150g) and in side with 150g. In above it will eventually be able to go as high as 175g. As you can see, this reflects Italcanna's new philosophy of indicating not so much maximums (a sometimes misleading fact) but the optimum lead distinguished in the various casting types.
Excellent sensitivity on touches and in fighting with large prey also thanks to a powerful quick-loading stock. Definitely a multi-purpose rod suitable for amateur fishing and excellent for competition at the highest level. The primary characteristic of this CR150, however, is the great ease of casting in immediately reaching and often improving on one's range maximums-and we're not kidding...
A more challenging version of the 150 is its sister CR180 with high overall power that consequently requires more effort in casting management, however, bringing the optimums to 150 in ground and 180g in side. Suitable especially for those with powerful loading of the lower parts.

FM line (Blue color) A different power management makes the loading of this line even easier and more progressive than the CR line. The execution is smooth and fluent, and distances difficult to cover with many other models are reached with ease. Great for amateur fishing but also for competitive fishing. Currently available in the length of 4.20 m for optimum of 125 in ground and 150 in side as for the CR model.

100 % MADE in ITALY

Italcanna guarantees that all the rods in this catalog are absolutely made in Italy at its production facility in Lucca, starting with the mother carbon fiber that is used to make each and every shaft.
Made in Italy means not only choosing the best materials, but also having the certainty of assistance and spare parts even on older products.
In fact, we are used to always keep the molds necessary to make a given item.
Italian production also means that the product you are using has been developed by expert fishermen for our seas, our seabeds, and our fishing techniques, and is therefore not an item that for market needs must necessarily be suitable for more than one country.

The choice of materials

Having a direct production-user relationship, we feel obliged to always employ the best materials, because we are personally accountable for the materials used, unlike manufacturers who resell to multinationals with the sole purpose of offering a sufficient product at a lower price to prevent them from turning to others, and certainly do not specify to them the raw materials used.
A clear example of this is carbon fiber, in the chart opposite we highlight different types of fibers in HR class which as visible all have a similar modulus value, but very different tensile strength values, this means that a rod made with fiber A (our choice) will have the same stiffness and weight feeling as one made with fiber C (less expensive), so seemingly the same, however under greater tensile stress the one with fiber C will break much sooner.
