ITALCANNA surfcasting fishing rod

New version of the URANIA model which differs from the previous versions in that it has more overall power,(almost 20% more on the butt) no sliding on the tip and new StarCross carbon (exclusive to Italcanna) on the butt. The main strength of this model lies in the very progressive curvature that makes it suitable even for peak retrieves such as from reefs or harbors or dams something that would be impractical with markedly tip rods. Also a small footprint that make it easily transportable even in inaccessible places and stowable in small spaces or trunks. Made of high-strength carbon, it has an enhanced semi-parabolic action with which you can make excellent casts without fatigue. Loading is therefore gradual, progressive with continuity. Italcanna guarantees that all the rods in this catalog are absolutely made in Italy at its production site in Lucca, starting with the mother carbon fiber that is used to make each and every shaft.
Made in Italy means not only the choice of the best materials, but also having the certainty of assistance and spare parts even on older products.
In fact, we are used to always keep the molds necessary to make a given item.
Italian production also means that the product you are using has been developed by expert fishermen for our seas, our seabeds, and our fishing techniques, and is therefore not an item that for market needs must necessarily be suitable for more than one country.

The choice of materials

Having a direct production-user relationship, we feel obliged to always employ the best materials, because we are personally accountable for the materials used, unlike manufacturers who resell to multinationals with the sole purpose of offering a sufficient product at a lower price to prevent them from turning to others, and certainly do not specify to them the raw materials used.
A clear example of this is carbon fiber, in the chart opposite we highlight different types of HR class fibers which as visible all have a similar modulus value, but very different tensile strength values, this means that a rod made with A fiber (our choice) will have the same stiffness and weight feeling as one made with C fiber (less expensive), so seemingly the same, however under greater tensile stress the one with C fiber will break much sooner.
