Lo stile di recupero è uno solo: WTD cioè “walking the dog”: mentre l’azione del mulinello fa avanzare l’esca, gli strappi ritmati della vetta della canna fanno oscillare l’artificiale secondo un percorso a zig-zag che manda in crisi i predatori più propensi a cacciare in superficie. L’attacco è quasi sempre violento, con una spettacolare esplosione che costituisce il momento più emozionante dell’intera azione di pesca.
