MECCANICA VADESE tripod nick evolution
The lines of carp fishing last even more days unlike other fishing techniques that normally do not last more than a day.
The basic steps to be taken in a line of carpfishing are as follows :
- Finding the right location for fishing
- Probing the bottom
- Pasture
- Fishing for the biggest carp
Before we look at the various points for preparing for the carp fishing let's look in detail at the fishing equipment used.
For the carpfishing by now specific equipment is sold for this technique, carpfishing rods are two- or three-piece and change according to their action, normally the action is measured in pounds.
As for the reel, we can find commercially available carpfishing reels specific, they have a lever called the backstop lever that is used precisely to make sure that the monofilament is left free even when the fishing rod will be placed in the rod pod.
The rod pod
It is a brassiere purely used for the carpfishing, the function of the rodpod is to alert us when the carp bites our bait, the rod pod has sound sensors and monkeys that will allow us to see and hear the bites of the fish.
The following article was not written by us producers but is taken from the TEST pages of Pescare Carpfishing magazine No. 91 on pages 32 and 33.
Carpers very often go into articulate discussions about what the main characteristics of the ideal rod-pod should be, almost never finding common ground. Those who assert that the main quality is stability routinely clash with those who prefer to have a pod with reduced weight and bulk, and in turn, these find those who prefer simplicity of frame side by side with ease of assembly. Assuming that thousands of euros worth of equipment must be placed on a stand that provides reliability and safety, these components should certainly not be overlooked when choosing a pod.
ANGLER TO ANGLER
The rod-pod we had the chance to try for you is called "Nick'95 Evolution" and it is the latest product from Meccanica Vadese. The name of this product "EVOLUTION" was not chosen at random, in fact it was made at the end of an evolutionary process that saw as protagonists precisely the suggestions of the carpists themselves who, based on the rod-pods previously made by the Fossombrone-based company, indicated what the real needs were in the various fishing situations, and consequently what improvements should be made. After the majestic Nick and the practical Tech-Nick, Meccanica Vadese has therefore decided to complete its offer with the Nick Evolution, the rod-pod that stands between the two aforementioned taking from both the most salient features. From the former undoubtedly the excellent stability, flanked by the bitubo anti-rotation system and the implosion closure without disassembly; from the latter the weight and ease of transport, without neglecting the excellent value for money.
VERSATILE AND PRACTICAL
The Nick Evolution is a 360-degree tilting and rotating rod pod, the central body relying on the anti-rotation of the double overlapping tube, which is telescopic and can be tightened to the preferred position.
It comes with three standard leg extensions, oriented at an angle 7° greater than Nick's, giving it a large support surface by making up for the inability to dislocate the legs. All rod-pod parts, with the exception of the tubes, are machined from solid metal using vertical/horizontal centers and CNC lathes. The Evo as it is often called is also very well cared for aesthetically thanks to the anodized aluminum, lightened by almost three kilograms compared to its big brother and finished along the entire structure, decorated in addition by a cutter-made engraving on both support-grids. The telescoping legs and central body offer smooth movements thanks to internal pa6 plungers that ensure ad hoc adjustment for each spot. Independent 3- or 4-barrel buzzer bars allow convenient accommodation of any type of reel with generous operating space between (panoramic also available). Fully collapsible without the need to detach any components it can be conveniently housed in the included carry bag, offering a truly minimal footprint.
The valuable sensors can be removed with half a turn of the wrist by acting on the standard quick release based on the provided key.
CONCLUSIONS
The Nick Evolution is a product that undoubtedly aims for the leaidership of the category, a tool that is very well maintained in its materials and finish. During all our tests, thanks to its features and versatility, it proved to be a pod that verges on perfection, it is reliable in any situation, including the most extreme and with uneven terrain or submerged in water. We recommend it especially to the more experienced, to those who are looking for a definitive solution to all the problems that can be encountered in fishing. On closer inspection, this pod truly offers everything a carp angler looks for in a top-notch stand..
