Professional surfcasting fishing rod and reels
Surfcasting, an exclusive beach fishing technique with rough seas, requires specific equipment to tackle waves and reach great distances with bait. Professional surfcasting fishing rods, which are about 4 meters long, are light and elastic to promote precise and smooth casts.
The reels used are both fixed and rotating drum reels. Hooks and bait should be chosen according to the fish you want to catch. However, prefer long shank hooks for the best hold on the bait. Very important is the choice of sinkers, which will be flat or pyramid shaped, heavy weight, mobile or placed at the bottom of the line. Surf-casting sinkers are often armed with grappling hooks that hold the bait in place by anchoring to the bottom. The terminal line is attached with a swivel to the main line, the lead is placed at the bottom, and on top of it are two or three lines about 30 cm long, 50-60 cm apart. At this point you are ready to cast, after which you insert the rod into its good rod holder and prepare for the patient wait, which can also prove to be long. The bite is heralded with a few obvious touches, then the line tenses up by bending the line sharply, a sign that the fish is moving away with the bait in its mouth. Then you intervene with the retrieving action, tiring the fish out and trying to beach it and not so much wade it. It is very useful, where possible, to get a good knowledge of the shoreline by swimming with mask and fins along the bottoms where you will want to fish. It is also useful to inquire about tidal patterns, and the currents that form at the change of tide, which are often the signal to many fish that it is time to set out in search of food. This is especially true at river mouths. When the sea is rough, the bottoms, especially sandy ones, are lifted, and dissected mollusks, worms, and crustaceans attract fish of different species, creating an abundance of food that easily camouflages our bait. Prey that can be insinuated are: Bream, Seabass, Mormora, Mullet, Occhiata, Sarago, Grongo, Moray.
Suitable rods for this fishery are: Veret Nebula, Veret Syria, Veret E-vento, Veret Andromeda, Italcanna revolver, Italcanna Aspide, Italcanna Dynamis, Italcanna Tricolore, Trabucco Supernova Gr Surf, Maver Darkside Play.
