DAWOSUB FLASHLIGHT ATHOS ONE CAVING

If you dive at night, in caves or on wrecks, you must have a dive lamp. It can also come in handy during the day, for looking in crevices and crevices.

Before we go into more detail about lamps, let's point out some critical issues: most activities that require a diving lamp also require some preparation, or make it desirable. In the first category are closed environments on vertical caves, caverns and wrecks. These require specific preparation and equipment (in addition to lamps), without which, entering these environments would be extremely dangerous. Divers not trained in these environments have very little experience in terms of safety, while those trained apply high standards.

Although physical training for night diving is not necessary, it may be a good idea to further your knowledge.

The first thing to know about diving lamps is that, except for looking in crevices during the day, you will always need more than one. On night or cave dives you must have at least two: a large main lamp and a smaller secondary backup lamp. Technical divers, who explore caves or the inside of wrecks, have at least three flashlights each: one large primary lamp and two compact backup lamps.

Of course, the reason for this is so that if the flashlight breaks, you are not left in the dark. Although underwater flashlights are very reliable, they do occasionally break, so it is prudent to have another light source (in technical diving it is considered mandatory). Although you may be able to manage a night dive even without a spare flashlight, it is certainly much easier to resurface and find the exit point having one than having none.

In addition to the main light, for night diving you can also use a small beacon light, a chemical light, to attach to the top of your tank or snorkel. These beacon lights allow you to stick together with your buddy and, in the case of night diving from the boat, make it easier for the crew to locate you on the surface.
